District Jail Kathua

The District has strategic importance because of Indo-Pak border and the number of routes for infiltration and smuggling activities. Some of the border areas of the District have been affected by the militant activities mostly for crossing over of militants with arms and ammunition with the intention of committing violence and creating communal /law and order situation. The law and order requirements of the District have also been quite considerable and the District jail has been in a position to fulfill the requirement satisfactorily.
